You’ll find many differences between the care provided by your doctor’s office and care at the Emergency Room. You’ll pay only a co-pay to see your doctor but you’ll be charged additional amounts for care through the Emergency Room, especially if it’s not a true emergency.

Urgent Care is an option for you when you can’t wait to see a doctor but don’t have a real medical emergency. Urgent Care costs less and can help you when you can’t get a same-day appointment with your doctor or have a condition that is not life-or-limb threatening but requires immediate care. Some examples include:

  • Sprains
  • Sore throat
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin conditions
  • Minor broken bones like a finger
